Surgeon General of Pakistan Army Lt. Gen. Dr. Zahid Hameed inaugurated Nuclear Imaging Center at Q.I.H. He was also accompanied by Maj. Gen. Dr. Sohail Aziz Commandant AFIC. The center has been setup under the supervision of Col ® Dr. Mohsin Shaikh, A renowned Nuclear Cardiologist who has a vast experience in this specialty. Dr. Mohsin said that Nuclear Imaging is a branch of medical imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose and determine the severity of a variety of diseases including many types of cancers, heart disease, gastro intestinal, endocrine, neurological disorders and other abnormalities within the human body.
Speaking at the occasion, Gen. Zahid said that due to the enhanced capabilities provided by the nuclear medicine, doctors have a greater chance of detecting serious illnesses much earlier. He also took a round of the hospital along with Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash CEO and appreciated the high end services rendered by the Q.I.H to the patients.
